Australian Red Cross presents…
Architects of Social Bridges: An evening of multicultural discussion, music and food
How can we make Australia a better place for everyone?
Australian Red Cross invites you to a FREE event to celebrate our cultural diversity and inspire new ways of making Australia an even more welcoming society.
We live in one of the most culturally and linguistically diverse nations in the world and more than 60 per cent of us believe they should do more to learn about the customs and heritage of those who settle here. But where can we start?
Come and hear author, activist and event host Tasneem Chopra lead a lively and interactive discussion exploring reasons behind the public perception of asylum seekers and refugees and what we can do as a community to build a more supportive and cohesive society.
BE INSPIRED by a panel of expert speakers
ENGAGE with stories from around Australia
ENJOY live music performances by local and emerging artists
TASTE international canapés served by the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre
SEE the official launch of a short film about people’s stories of finding safety in Australia.
Guests performing and speaking this year include:

Spoken-word poet, hip hop fanatic, MC and author who arrived in Australia as a refugee from Sudan.
Terrasur
