Event Details

A still life installation by Sarah Parker of randomly placed objects comprised of seed pods, coral fragments, fine bone, rocks and minerals, all cast from high fired porcelain.

The underlying link between these objects from nature found beneath the sea, the shadow of trees, our flesh, and below the earth's surface reminds us that everything is linked. Through random scatterings of nature's artefacts such as bones, rocks and seedlings, everything has a connection. My use of porcelain to create all these objects is a means to accentuate and reinforce this link.

It all breaks down in the earth only to be re-purposed in a form such as clay, earth's most basic natural element, in which a part of us and all things can be traced.

Presented as part of the Craft Cubed Window Walk
