Bugle Boys Pty Ltd & JTM Productions present BUGLE BOYS A Salute To The Andrews Sisters Before The Spice Girls, before The Supremes…there was The Andrews Sisters. During the late 1930’s and 1940’s the original girl group were a global sensation, their records sold in the millions and their music still resonates to this day. Bugle Boys frock up for this comedy/cabaret omage to dance their shapely legs off and sing some of Patty, Maxene and LaVerne’s most beloved songs including Rum And Coca Cola, Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy and more. Between numbers they bitch and squabble and deliver a hilarious tale of their life and career. Patty is an enthusiastic, unnatural blonde and the leader of the group. Maxene, a brunette is acerbic, cynical and rarely sober. LaVerne is impeccably groomed. She’s a redhead, an airhead and a bit of a floozy. This unique show is a brand new Australian production, conceived and written by John Livings (At Last – The Etta James Story, Let’s Get It On – The Life And Music Of Marvin Gaye) and saw its stage debut at Melbourne’s Chapel Off Chapel in October 2015. Dressed to the nines in stunning faux military costumes the three ‘girls’ had audiences embrace the show from opening night and that inaugural short season ended in triumph with a sold-out theatre. Michael Dalton (Patty) is a consummate performer who began his theatrical career in London’s West End when, as a 10 year old he landed the title role in the hit musical Oliver! Jon Jackson (Maxene) is a multi-skilled performer with exceptional and diverse talents as an opera singer, cabaret artist and comic raconteur. Andrew Dessmann (LaVerne) is an experienced comedy performer who has toured extensively in countless sell-out shows at the MICF, Adelaide Fringe and the Edinburgh Festival. “CHEEKY REPARTEE” Herald Sun “5 STARS” Theatre People 2016 Melbourne International Comedy Festival Event.
