Coming soon, Chef Andrew McConnell and his team will present a seasonal long lunch in a truly incredible space.
The Butter Factory, affectionately known as Butterland, is not only Katie Marx’s private home, but is also a well known icon in event and design circles, renowned for it’s rustic vintage appeal, generous proportions and its ability to be transformed to create a stunning and glamourous setting. Butterland has hosted many beautiful weddings and events that are adorned with Katie’s breathtaking floral installations.
Located in the picturesque country village of Newstead, northwest of Melbourne and 15 minutes from Castlemaine, this special lunch at Butterland offers a wonderful opportunity for a day trip or weekend away in Victoria’s picturesque Goldfields region.
The collaboration between Marx and McConnell is a first, and draws on their long working relationship with Marx having created striking floral installations in McConnell’s restaurants for over ten years.
Drinks and canapés will be enjoyed in the Spring sunshine of Butterland’s gardens, before guests enter the 100 year old heritage-listing building to enjoy a seasonal feast by McConnell and the Cutler & Co team. Matching wines served to accompany each course.
Against a backdrop of foraged foliage and fresh flowers, two of Melbourne’s great creative minds come together and invite you to be part of the first Butterland long lunch.
