In light of the recent lockdown in Victoria due to the second wave of COVID-19, Cork and Canvas is offering an entertaining and therapeutic experience from the comfort of home.
For those in lockdown enjoying some quiet ‘me time’ or those searching for a creative and engaging way to pass time, Cork and Canvas has just the thing. Melbournians can grab a bottle of their favourite vino and get ready to uncover your inner artist with the relaunch of Cork and Canvas’ on demand and live paint and sip classes.
What a better way to relax while being stuck inside than with the creation of your very own Cork and Canvas masterpiece.
Research shows that painting and creating art helps significantly reduce stress, even if your art skills aren’t quite professional level! With lockdowns coming back into place not long after they were lifted recently, it’s no surprise that most Melbournians are feeling the added anxiety and stress surrounding the uncertainty of the duration of the pandemic.
The zen level will be at a high after a 2 hour lesson with the talented artists at Cork and Canvas, guiding you step by step, while you watch, paint and sip on a wine (or two). The team at Cork and Canvas is offering a step-by-step video tutorial available on-demand or live via Zoom for $30, guided by Cork and Canvas’ senior lead artists.
Once art lovers have purchased their ‘ticket’ to the on demand class, they will have access to the video for 48 hours and can start and stop when it suits them. Alternatively, the schedule for the live Zoom classes is available on the Cork and Canvas website.
For those that don’t have art supplies at home, a creativity kit can be purchased and delivered to your door.
This includes access to an art class (either on demand or live via Zoom), paint brushes, paints and canvases. Kits can be purchased in single pack ($80), double ($130) and family sizes ($230). Founder of Cork and Canvas Melinda Janiszewski commented: “We are extremely saddened to have to close the doors to our Melbourne studios once again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but at Cork and Canvas we know that now is not the time to stop creating and doing what we love'.
We wanted to show our support to those that are keeping safe at home by relaunching our on demand online paint and sip sessions, we hope that these classes give our wonderful customers a much needed escape during these trying times.” Cork and Canvas classes and creative kits can be purchased on their website.
