The acclaimed 7th Melbourne Ukulele Festival is rolling into Northcote for 2016
Held in conjunction with the Darebin Music Feast and proudly presented by the Melbourne Ukulele Kollective and Beat Magazine, the festival is the place to be over the weekend of 28th – 30th October.
We are again based on High St, Northcote, in all your favourite venues - Wesley Anne, Northcote Town Hall, Northcote Uniting Church, Open Studio and our old faithful, Bar 303 - surrounded by quirky shops, yummy restaurants, hip bars & cafes and all on a train & a city tramline!
A stellar weekend of stunning ukulele entertainment awaits you.
INTERNATIONAL ARTISTS
This year we're excited to showcase for the first time the UK's Peter Moss and the Taiwanese gem Hau Yi Tsai. Returning to MUF after a couple of years, we welcome back the edgy Nico & The Kapiolani Boyz from France and also the charming Ukulollo from Italy.
NATIONAL ARTISTS
The Montgomery Brothers are hitting our stage again along with AJ Leonard who is transmogrifying into a new band featuring a who’s who of the jazz & island music scene. And of course MUF wouldn't be MUF without a return of Bosko & Honey.
LOCAL GEMS
This year’s sensation has been the tight, tight, tight harmonies of the David Bowie cover band The Thin White Ukes, purr-fect purr-formances from Cat House, a festival CD launch from The Brass Traps, and those crazy perennials the Melbourne Ukulele Kollective.
DAY-TIME CONCERTS
Free and low cost day-time concerts featuring the best of local and interstate performers in intimate venues.
EVENING CONCERTS
Modestly priced evening concerts featuring well known and emerging Australian, and International artists.
WORKSHOPS and MASTERCLASSES

PIMP MY MUF
The magnificent hand painted and decorated ukulele art exhibition, where artists from all over Australia show what they can do with a uke without even strumming the strings!
Festival-goers will be treated to a weekend filled with, a great atmosphere, wonderful music, our thriving community of players, fans and friends, and a diverse range of events for the whole family to enjoy.
