Those are a few phrases commonly used when describing Aussie legend Russell Morris. He since had a stellar career releasing great albums since the 60s.
In a bold attempt to deliver a piece of untold Australian history, Russell Morris’s latest album Sharkmouth has done just that. Loosely based on characters and events spanning from 1916, Sharkmouth is a journey through some of Australia’s most iconic and untold stories.
A journey through The Great Depression, Squizzy Taylor, Phar Lap, Painters and Dockers, Les Darcy, Mr Eternity... just some of the characters and events in this soundscape.
Believed to be a first of its kind, Sharkmouth is a Roots and Blues representation of the Aussie Battler.
A long time in the making and a project Russell has been wanting for, he invited some of Australia’s finest artists to help create a record full of sultry grooves, earthy textures and swinging shuffles.
