Event Details

Hosted by the National Steam Centre, home of the Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club, this event showcases our National agricultural and industrial heritage. This big 3 day rally over the long weekend has steam engines at work, vintage earthmoving equipment, stationary engines, vintage cars, working Draught Horses, tractors and trucks as well as numerous other machines from Australia’s agricultural and industrial past. The Lyttelton 2 steam tug’s engine room has been recreated. The steam tug’s 2 towering steam engines take centre stage, one restored, with many of the important ancillary engines and pumps located as they were in the tug’s engine room now restored and operational. This has been restored and is now fully operational in our arena, providing our visitors with a unique opportunity to see inside one of these huge machines. The Scoresby SteamFest is run by Melbourne Steam Traction Engine Club volunteers and is held each year on the Labour Day long weekend. The National Steam Centre is located on a big six hectare site and is easy to get around with our miniature railway and tractor drawn people mover running every day of the rally. On site catering operating or pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it on the lawns. Admission: Adult $15, Child $5, family $35 Cash only No Concession Gates Open 10am-4pm.
