To celebrate the official opening of the new H&M store, from 17 – 19 November The District Docklands is inviting Melbournians to ‘imagine different’ at the new look shopping centre, with a spectacular sneak peek, open weekend including FREE entertainment, activities and entry into some of Melbourne’s top attractions.
The highly anticipated $150 million redevelopment and rebrand of Harbour Town Melbourne sees the Docklands based shopping centre relaunch as The District Docklands – Melbourne’s newest shopping, entertainment, dining and fresh food precinct.
Coinciding with the official store opening of international retailer H&M on Saturday, 18 November at 10am, The District Docklands will come alive with an action-packed program of events and activities showcasing all the latest fashion and retail stores, including live entertainment, pop-up fashion moments, roving performers, the launch of the Food Truck Park Summer Residency, an all female guest DJ line up, immersive kids activities and live street art, not to mention hundreds of fabulous giveaways and special offers plus FREE coffee, sweet treats and espresso martinis.
Even better, to celebrate the first stage of redevelopment milestones and the evolution from Harbour Town Melbourne to The District Docklands, some of the Docklands’ most popular attractions are joining the party by opening the doors to visitors for 2 hours of FREE flights on the Melbourne Star Observation Wheel, FREE entry to the 3D reality-deifying gallery ArtVo and The Blender Studios, FREE entry to The Brickman Experience and FREE ice skating at the world class O’Brien Group ice skating Arena.
Forming the centrepieces of the new look retail offering, H&M is the latest brand to join an expanding stable of coveted international and national brands including, General Pants Co., Platypus Shoes, Skechers, Miniso, Ozmosis, Hype DC, Cotton On, Forever New, Bonds, Canterbury, FILA, Politix, Sportspower and more, with new stores opening weekly.
The weekend festivities for the whole family to enjoy include the launch of the Food Truck Park Summer Residency featuring a rotation of Melbourne’s best food trucks at a dedicated indoor-outdoor dining and bar area which will be open across the whole launch weekend and every Friday throughout summer. Sweetening the offer further, the District Canteen is giving away 300 FREE sweet treats every day it’s open until the end of December.
Drawing inspiration from Melbourne’s iconic laneways and distinctive culture, The District Docklands is well into the process of transforming into a new, distinctly Docklands precinct intended to provide an urban oasis and a vibrant new village for Melburnians on the edge of the CBD.
