The Old Melbourne Gaol is famous for being the former home to Melbourne's most dangerous criminals in history. From its construction in 1800 to it's closure in 1929; this Gaol built-up an incredibly cruel history with approximately 133 hangings including the infamous Ned Kelly! Today, visitors can explore where these criminals lived, what their life was like and even tour the cells of some of Australia's most notorious criminals. The Gaol also hosts weekly events and activities for customers to interact with, including a Night Tour, 'Escape the Gaol', 'A Night in the Watch House' and much more!
