Description
Leaving Melbourne city in the late morning, drive over the West Gate Bridge and begin your journey to the Great Ocean Road, starting along the Surf Coast. Stop at the Great Ocean Road Chocolatiers for free samples of their delicious creations.
They also boast award-winning ice cream so you can start your tour off in proper holiday mode. Lunch can be purchased here at your own expense, or you are welcome to bring your own food to eat on the bus.
Enjoy the views of the 'Round the Twist' lighthouse before stopping to take a picture with the Great Ocean Road sign at Memorial Arch. As the road twists and turns, your journey will continue along the coastline with stunning views.
Your next tour stop will be to spot some koalas in their natural habitat, among the eucalyptus trees. As you pass through the seaside town of Apollo Bay, the road takes you away from the coastline and into the Otway Rainforest.
Those ocean views will return though, as you reach the coastline again on the rugged Shipwreck Coast.
Listen to the tale of the Loch Ard and take a walk down onto the sands of the gorgeous Loch Ard Gorge. As the sun sets over the Southern Ocean, your tour will arrive at the Twelve Apostles.
Having soaked in the beautiful views you will head back to the bus for our return journey. Stop for dinner (at your own expense) in a country town along the way. Relax and take in the countryside as the city lights of Melbourne begin to appear on the horizon.
