Description
Drive along one of the most spectacular roads in the world on this 11-hour tour of Australia’s Great Ocean Road. Hugging the coast of Victoria, it is listed as one of Australia’s National Heritage attractions.
Depart from Melbourne in small groups, to get a more personalized experience, and enjoy the sound of the ocean breaking on the waves.
Enjoy spectacular views of the Southern Ocean, and see surfers riding waves.
Stop for a coffee or a walk on the beach in the seaside town of Lorne on Louttit Bay. A popular beach town, full of aquatic activities, it also has a large number of boutique clothing stores and charming cafés.
Continue back on the road, looking out for wildlife, such as whales and dolphins splashing around in the ocean, and kangaroos, echidnas, and bandicoots on the land. Look up too for the many different bird species. You might even see koalas up close in their natural habitat.
Stop for lunch in the town of Apollo Bay, a more relaxed seaside town.
Continue your tour and enjoy a walk in the scenic Otway Ranges.
Close by lie the sculptural 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. The place is both beautiful and interesting, and you will learn the story of a shipwreck that, like so many stories, is a combination of love, tragedy, and hope.
