We travel in the reverse direction to avoid the crowds at the key tourist spots, such as the iconic 12 Apostles. Your day begins with pick up from your CBD based hotel as we travel out over the West Gate Bridge towards Winchelsea. A quick stop to stretch the legs, perhaps with a coffee pick me up, before we continue our journey to Gorge Chocolates. Situated just 15km from the Shipwreck Coast, we enjoy a stop here for a chocolate tasting, however Gorge Chocolates is also home to Australia's largest suri alpaca stud - and you are welcome to handfeed these beautiful animals should you wish. Our journey continues to the iconic 12 Apostles and Loch Ard Gorge. Seeing this coastline up close is truly incredible and the rock stacks are even more impressive in person. Spend some time wandering this area ensuring that you pick up the best photos to take back home. Lunch today is at the Wildlife Wonders cafe. This not-for-profit sanctuary enables our guests to indulge in a shared style lunch before heading off on a 70-minute fully guided tour with a conservationist guide. With your headset and binoculars in tow, you will be able to view diverse array of Australian wildlife, including emus, wallabies, echidnas, koalas and more - all whilst learning about our native flora and fauna. After this walking tour, we head along the Great Ocean Road through the township of Apollo Bay before stopping for a beach stroll in Lorne and a visit to the Great Ocean Road Memorial Arch to learn about the soldiers who built this 'great' road, before returning to Melbourne in the early evening. This is a truly incredible day tour and one that you do not want to miss.
