This tour operates seven days a week regardless of weather, ideal for Melbourne visitors including rainy days. You will visit five venues across the Yarra Valley, sampling wine, beer, food, and chocolate.
Schedule:
- 8:40am: Pickup from The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia on Flinders Street (opposite 154 Flinders Street), departing promptly at 9:00am. Late arrivals cannot be accommodated.
- 9:30am: Short detour through Warrandyte on the way to Yarra Valley.
- 10:15am: First stop at Soumah of Yarra Valley for red and white wine tastings, featuring cool climate varietals such as Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.
- 11:30am: Visit St Huberts Cellar Door to taste four popular wines. Options include beer, cider, or a spirit tasting (gin or whisky available for a small additional fee).
- 12:30pm: Lunch at Quarters Restaurant, Hubert Estate; communal seating and individual orders (lunch not included). Alternatively, you may choose to dine separately at Domaine Chandon by booking in advance - this will alter the schedule and means missing the St Huberts tasting.
- 2:00pm: Choose between Yarra Valley Chocolaterie for a guided tasting of 10 chocolates (plus optional gelato) or Yarrawood Estate Winery for wine by the glass. Early arrival at Balgownie Estate is also possible for a drink before joining the group.
- 2:45pm: Final stop at Balgownie Estate for wine tastings with scenic views.
- 3:30pm: Departure back to Melbourne CBD, arriving between 4:55pm and 5:20pm.
