Travel northeast through the bush suburbs of Templestowe, Eltham, and Kangaroo Ground to the De Bortoli Vineyard at Dixons Creek. Begin your day with a wine and cheese pairing in an elegant setting.
Next, visit Yering Station, the Yarra Valley’s first vineyard established in 1838. Sample estate wines in the original 1859 winery, where local artworks and produce are featured. Lunch follows in the vineyard’s restaurant, offering an a la carte main course and a glass of wine with views across the valley.
After lunch, visit Payten & Jones, a smaller producer crafting small-batch wines including chardonnay, pinot noir, syrah, and Mediterranean varietals.
The tour concludes with a visit to Medhurst Vineyard, a family-owned estate set in the foothills of the Warramate Ranges. If Medhurst is closed (Tuesdays and Wednesdays), alternative visits may include Punt Road, Dominique Portet, Giant Steps, or Oakridge Vineyards.
