Silk Road

Melbourne

Bars

Set in the 1930s building of the Shakespeare Hotel, Silk Road is influenced by the Chinese silk trade and the route that once connected Asia with the Mediterranean and Europe. Walking through the golden doors you are transported to a decadent European paradise, with floating crystal chandeliers, yards of lavish silk and eight bars spread across the three floors.

The Floors:-

Ground Floor

Once you're through the main door of the building, you'll bear witness to the Venetian bar area, a dance floor, a 20 seat Mediterranean tapas table and two private rooms available for hire.

Chop Shop Restaurant: An ideal spot amongst the bars and dance floor to order tasty treats from the Chinese cuisine menu.

St George Wine and Cheese Room: Catering for groups of 25-40 people it is reminiscent of a traditional cigar lounge, with boutique wines and imported cheeses.

Dynasty Room: Suitable for smaller gatherings of up to 20 people, the extravgant gold and red decor is resemblant of the ancient Chinese empire. Check out the food menu for more information.

Mezzanine Level

With classic and signature cocktails alongside plush seating areas, the mezzanine level has a Persian and Middle Eastern vibe heralding from 'Alexander the Great', King of Kings.

Champagne Bar: With gallons of fizzy from their brand partner Moet & Chandon, the private space is still in amongst all the action for groups of up to 50 people (perfect for people watching).

Deco Bar: White marble and glass adorned, it overlooks the Venetian bar and is host to the best cocktail makers and shakers. For up to 100-150 guests. Take a look at the cocktail menu for more information.

Teppanyaki Booth: Ready to enjoy the wonder of having your food expertly thrown around in front of you? The exciting teppanyaki bar is accompanied by cocktail waitress service for intimate gatherings of 20-25 people.

Gold Bar: Lavishly adorned in gold, you are able to sit in the main bar area or reserve the private booths

Private Suites

With a panoramic view of the whole venue, the VIP suites are perfect for nosey parkers.

Neptune Suite: In the style of an 18th century lounge, decked out in red, black and gold and with a stylish fireplace, 40-50 guests can be waited on hand and food by their own peronal bar staff.

Bacchus Suite: The grand marble bar, with sofas and a cosy fireplace has a dark and masculine feel for up to 40-50 guests.
