Emergency Services Day!

Pacific Epping Shopping Centre

Sunday 20 May at 08:00
Melbourne 571-583 High St Epping

Pacific Epping, the go-to Shopping Centre in the North, is raising awareness of Victoria’s hard-working Community and Emergency crews, by hosting an educational and fun-filled Emergency Services Day for local families and friends.

Pacific Epping will be paying tribute with a day of activities, demonstrations and entertainment on Sunday 20th May, from 10am - 2pm. The Centre is celebrating the bravery and hard-work of these crews with a day for all the family to enjoy; kids will be entertained with free activities including face-painting and a bouncy castle, and won’t go hungry with a delicious Sausage Sizzle.

The Centre is thrilled to announce that The Metropolitan Fire Brigade (MFB) will be doing a live Jaws of Life demonstration at 11am, which is not to be missed. Jaws of Life, the tool which extracts victims out of car-crashes, has become synonymous with saving lives, a car has been donated to the MFB to demonstrate the incredible functionalities of this tool. This is a rare and exciting insight into the amazing work the crew does to save lives every day.

Victoria Police will be supplying the music, with tunes from their Blue Light DJ, and entertaining customers with their Pipe Band, whilst educating the crowds on their service with a motorbike display, Mounted Branch display and educational leaflets.

Services attending the day will be engaging customers with displays, merchandising vans, demonstrations, promotional giveaways and fundraising activities. Pacific Epping has also partnered with the Northern Health Hospital Fun Run, which will be taking place from 9.30am – 10.30am along Cooper Street. All funds raised from both the Fun Run and Pacific Epping’s Emergency Services Day will be donated to the Blue Ribbon Foundation, to assist with the development of their new Pediatric ward. Simon Brown, Centre Manager of Pacific Epping, shared his enthusiasm for the activity; ‘It’s an honour for us to be able to utilise our centre to raise awareness of the local Emergency Services and everything they do for the Epping community. We are so excited to bring together our customers to enjoy a day of activities, food and fun, whilst learning about what the Emergency Services do on a day-to-day basis.’

The Emergency Services in attendance include:

  • Victoria Police
  • MFB
  • Blue Ribbon
  • MARITIME / TSV
