Get ready for one of the most delightful natural phenomenon of Victoria with a direct coach service to Phillip Island from Melbourne, and see the nightly parade of Little Penguins battling the surf as they return to the beach after a hard day’s fishing. Ideal for those short of time, the 5-hour tour departs and returns to Federation Square, heading straight to Phillip Island in time to catch the Penguin Parade. You will drive through Melbourne’s affluent suburbs, where the modern architecture blends beautifully with late 19th-century Federation homes. As the South Gippsland Highway approaches, the landscape becomes more rural, with smaller townships and farming properties. Pass the small fishing town of San Remo to cross the only bridge that connects Phillip Island to the mainland. Not just famous for its Little Penguin Parade, Phillip Isand also boasts an amazing coastline with ideal surf conditions and a huge range of wildlife. As the sun sets over the ocean, the Little Penguins emerge from the sea and waddle up the beach to their sand dune burrows. Marvel as the little fellas feed their young. Little Penguins are the smallest of the penguin species and Phillip Island is home to the largest colony in the world. The Little Penguin colony is cherished, and to protect them, all revenue generated from the Parade is invested back into research, environment, and education projects to ensure the species flourishes.
